US Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) today endorsed President Donald J. Trump for re-election, noting the positive impact of the America First agenda for North Carolina’s working families.

In case you missed it, the North Carolina Troopers Association endorsed Ted Budd for US Senate Ted Budd yesterday. NCTA noted Ted Budd is the candidate who will best support law enforcement in the US Senate. NCTA endorsed Cheri Beasley in some of her previous three statewide campaigns when she refused to campaign in all 100 counties, but chose not to do so this time.
“Ted Budd knows the dangers faced by the men and women serving in law enforcement,” said NCTA President Ben Kral. “He knows we play a critical mission in keeping our communities safe and Ted Budd respects and appreciates the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and our families. Opioid abuse is devastating our communities. When fentanyl is smuggled across our southern border, it can be in North Carolina in less than 72 hours and it’s our officers having to confront these violent criminals as they transport these dangerous drugs into North Carolina. With violent crime at an all-time high, it is imperative we have a US Senator who will support law enforcement. Ted Budd is the best choice by far to be North Carolina’s next US Senator.”
The NCTA represents more than 2,500 active and retired members of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and is one of the most well-respected law enforcement organizations in North Carolina. The association seeks to advance the principles of proper law enforcement and support the continuing betterment of criminal justice in the state of North Carolina and the United States of America.

In congress, Ted Budd authored the Community Policing Act to help local police departments train officers in de-escalation tactics and active community engagement. Ted has also written legislation to double the federal penalties for rioting, pushed to make assaulting a police officer a deportable offense, and worked to hold sanctuary cities and lawless cities accountable for crimes committed in “autonomous zones.”

(Advance, NC) – The latest independent survey on the NC Senate race indicates Ted Budd increasing his lead over Cheri Beasley even after Beasley has been on TV with positive ads for almost a month even though she had no credible primary opponent. Now, just on Day 6 of the General Election campaign, a Democrat Super-PAC has hit the panic button and launched a hyper-defensive and purely reactive tv ad, almost identical to the defensive ad Beasley launched last week, trying to convince North Carolina voters that Beasley is tough on crime despite what her record shows. Oh, and Bill Clinton’s White House Political Director released a memo saying Democrats are pretty much toast already.
The Democrat Super-PAC Ad It’s here. It’s hyper-defensive and purely reacting to a NRSC ad criticizing Beasley’s soft-on-crime-record. So, already on defense, Team Beasley loses the first round of the messaging bout to Republicans. National Dems haven’t expressed a lot of confidence in the Beasley candidacy or her campaign thus far, but finally got shamed into spending a little bit in her support by this Politico piece on Friday describing how hopeless this senate race looks for Democrats.
The Democrat Memo Saying Democrats are Toast Meet Doug Sosnik. He’s a smart guy and served as President Bill Clinton’s White House Political Director.* If you need a NC connection, he graduated from Duke University (I know, I know, but the university IS located in North Carolina). He writes memos smart people read to know what’s going on. His latest memo was released today and, well, it’s not good for Democrats. Per Politico Playbook, Sosnik “concludes that the midterms were essentially lost during the period from July to November last year.”

Visual Aid Explaining Why Things are So Bad for Beasley There are a bunch of reasons why things are looking bad for Beasley, but a big one is Biden. And Beasley supports Biden. And Biden/Beasley policies have yielded record-setting inflation, higher gas prices, and chaos at the southern border. So, when voters go vote in November, that’s what they’ll be thinking about. Biden/Beasley policies will cost the working families of North Carolina an extra $5,200 this year due to Bidenflation. We have chaos at our southern border. And gas prices are out of control!
North Carolina’s working families deserve a conservative fighter in the US Senate who will fight against the failed Biden agenda instead of supporting it like my opponent will do. I’m honored that North Carolina Republicans have chosen me for that challenge. This is the 4th statewide campaign for both Cheri Beasley and Pat McCrory, and neither one has ever campaigned in all 100 counties. They don’t have any acceleration or, apparently, any motivation to campaign in all 100 counties.

Ted Budd is the only candidate with an actual job** other than campaigning full time and yet, Ted Budd is the only candidate (still running) to visit all 100 counties. Now he’s focused on getting to Victory Lane on May 17.

Pat McCrory, over the course of four statewide campaigns (2008, 2012, 2016) and four years as Governor, has not visited all 100 counties. Cheri Beasley, also on her fourth statewide campaign (2008, 2014, 2020), has not visited all 100 counties. They must think all that matters is Charlotte and Raleigh…maybe that explains why they’re both getting slaughtered in rural communities according to polling data?
* Yeah, he’s a Democrat, but kudos to Jeff Jackson. The dude hit 100 counties in 100 days and that ain’t easy. And he has young children at home, so even more kudos to his wife. JJ was the only other candidate in this race that seems to care about grassroots. Unfortunately for JJ, despite all his left-wing tweets, he’s still not woke enough to win a Democrat primary these days (unless a corrupt Democrat-Princeton-Professor gerrymanders a congressional district custom-made for JJ, but, I digress). **Walker chose not to seek re-election in 2020; Beasley was involuntarily retired in 2020; McCrory was involuntarily retired in 2016.

They haven’t really seen the light, but they’re pretending they have because North Carolinians know the jump in opioid crimes and human trafficking in NC can be traced directly back to Joe Biden’s Southern Border Disaster. McCrory and Beasley are singing an off-key duet from the Trump Hymnal, but it’s just lip service. Ted Budd doesn’t need the hymnal because he already knows the words by heart since Ted Budd supports building the wall and increasing security at our southern border.

A few weeks back, she was suddenly all-in on President Trump’s Title 42 efforts to prevent illegal immigration and now today, she’s got a new TV ad talking about a human trafficking courtroom she set up in NC and hoping no one will ask her why the Beasley-Biden-Agenda doesn’t aggressively fund efforts to really crack down on human traffickers at the southern border, before they can bring their criminal activities into the US.
Desperate McCrory Flailing About And McCrory…[deep sigh]…maybe Harvard will finally have him in as a guest lecturer at their Institute of Politics whenever they need an expert on desperately-flailing-candidate-campaign-tactics? He’s spent the past several weeks desperately trying to convince NC voters that Ted Budd, the candidate endorsed by President Donald Trump, is soft on border security and building the wall. McCrory’s “proof”? When faced with two pieces of legislation (Goodlatte1 & Goodlatte2 for you legislative-nerd-types), Ted Budd voted for the more conservative bill supported by rank-and-file border patrol agents on the southern border and not the squishy bill that Democrats in Washington, DC wanted. McCrory even has one of those Super-PACs he hates so much promoting his desperate and misleading narrative.
