More Epic than Top Gun?!?!

Ted Budd for US Senate Moves into Next Phase of Campaign Via a Soft, Subtle Television Ad with a Nuanced Message

HAHAHAHAHAHA. JUST KIDDING.
IT’S PRESIDENT TRUMP.
IT’S AMERICA FIRST.
AND IT’S EPIC.

(Advance, NC) – Ted Budd for US Senate launched a new TV ad today and it’s epic. It stars President Trump, Ted Budd, and thousands of North Carolina Patriots who believe in American Exceptionalism and support America First policies. It is, quite possibly, even better than the latest trailer for Top Gun 2 that debuted a few weeks back. And even though thoughts of Ted Budd make Pat McCrory start singing the Kenny Loggins classic Danger Zone, we’re confident most folks are gonna watch this ad, get pumped up for America and Ted Budd, and then go vote for Ted Budd. Best of all, you don’t have to wait for Doc Fauci to tell you it’s ok to go to a movie theater to see it – just click right here and watch it right now!

Frequently Asked Questions w/Felts
So, not backing away from Trump?
Ted Budd has consistently supported America First polices that protect and promote American jobs as the top priority. Why would anyone back away from that? As President Donald Trump has said, Ted Budd has never wavered in his commitment to America First. President Trump’s passionate pursuit of an America First Agenda is one of the reasons President Trump carried North Carolina twice.

Well, no one can say you’re not consistent.
Yep. Consistently awesome and consistently America First. You know who’s not consistent – One-Term-Governor Pat McCrory. He started this campaign 40 points up telling major donors Ted Budd was too conservative and too close to President Trump. Now he’s 12 points down and telling voters Ted Budd is too liberal and too close to Joe Biden. Maybe he tells his country club friends one thing but grassroots voters something else? Who knows? But that’s McCrory’s version of being consistent – he’s been consistently inconsistent for all 33 years of his 33-year-old political career. Ted Budd hasn’t changed, but Pat McCrory’s poll numbers have, so too has Pat McCrory. It’s almost like McCrory is just flailing about and doesn’t really know what he believes?

Wait a minute…were the messages on the stage added in digitally in post-production? Are you trying some sort of subliminal trick?! We got’cha!
Yeah, you got me. We used digital effects in our ads to amplify Ted’s message of America First and securing the borders. McCrory used digital effects in his ads to suggest to North Carolina voters that he likes to rock khakis and a nice button-down shirt while pushing a wheelbarrow of fecal matter around and about Uptown Charlotte. You tell me who’s on-message and who’s [way] off-message?

Congressman Darrell Issa Endorses Ted Budd for US Senate

“Ted Budd is a leader who will fight for the America First agenda that best protects and promotes American jobs.”

(ADVANCE, NC) – Congressman Darrell Issa (R, CA-50) endorsed Ted Budd for US Senate, praising Ted’s commitment to constituents.

“I’m proud to support my friend, Ted Budd, for US Senate in North Carolina,” said Issa. “I’m endorsing Ted because he understands what public service is really about; putting your constituents first and working every day to solve problems important to them. With what Joe Biden and his administration are doing to the country, we need those kinds of public servants in the Senate more than ever. Ted has my full endorsement.”

Issa is the former Chairman of the House Oversight Committee who led the Republican efforts exposing the Fast and Furious gun scandal and the IRS targeting of Conservatives; both occurring under the Obama administration. Issa joins a growing list of Republicans who have endorsed Ted Budd’s campaign for US Senate as the Republican Party continues to unite in support of Ted Budd for US Senate.

“I’m honored to have Darrell Issa’s endorsement in this race,” said Ted Budd. “Chairman Issa knows first-hand what it means to be a Conservative Fighter who doesn’t back down. No one did more to try to hold the Obama Administration accountable than Chairman Issa did during his time leading the Oversight Committee.”

The End for McWalker – Part 3 (& Technically 4)

3 Days | 4 Polls

All Show Ted Budd with a Commanding Lead in Primary and
Some Show Ted Budd with a Lead in the General Election and
All Eviscerate the McCrory Electability Myth Because
Polls Indicate McCrory is the Least-Electable Against Beasley

(Advance, N.C.) – 3 days. 4 polls. All of them indicate Ted Budd having a commanding lead in the NC Republican Primary for US Senate. Two of the polls included ballot tests for the General Election. Both of those indicated Ted Budd would defeat Cheri Beasley while former Governor Pat McCrory is losing in one and tied in the other. Given that McCrory’s main argument has been “Electability,” these polls eviscerate McCrory’s key message as they indicate McCrory is the least-electable against Beasley. Fortunately, McCrory still has his humblebrag of being “simply the best” as a good fallback for flailing campaign messaging.

“We’re winning and we’ve still got a lot of room to grow,” said Ted Budd. “President Donald Trump is excited to come back to NC this Saturday and I know NC Republicans are going to be even more fired up to vote for me after this rally!”

Thursday, April 7 | John Locke & Cygnal
Ted Budd-32%; McCrory-21%; Walker-7%; Eastman-1%
Ted Budd-45%; Beasley-43% | McCrory-41%; Beasley-41%

NOTE: JLF is strongly supported by a well-known, and well-liked of course, McCrory gubernatorial staffer who is a maxed-out donor to the McCrory campaign and has contributed at least six-figures to the McCrory Super-PAC.

Wednesday, April 6 | Club for Growth
Ted Budd-44%; McCrory-31%; Walker-11%; Eastman-3%

NOTE: CFG had endorsed Ted Budd for US Senate.

Wednesday, April 6 | Spry Strategies
Ted Budd-47%; McCrory-15%; Walker-9%; Eastman-2%
JDF NOTE: Look, it’s my job to tell you that Ted Budd is stomping on everyone, but even I’m skeptical we are winning by 32%. That said, this survey is more substantive than most of what McWalker gets the Charlotte Observer to cover so I’ll throw it out there and maybe they’ll write a story saying the hometown guy is losing by 32%.

Tuesday, April 5 | CBS-17 in Raleigh & Emerson College Polling
Ted Budd-38%; Pat McCrory-22%; Mark Walker-9%; Marjorie Eastman-1%

Ted Budd-50%; Beasley-43% | McCrory-41%; Beasley-43%
NOTE: It’s an independent poll and none of us on the campaign can tell you where Emerson College is but FiveThirtyEight gives Emerson College Polling an A-Minus rating.

In Case You Missed It: The Beginning of the End for McWalker – Part Deux

CBS-17 (Raleigh TV) Poll – Not affiliated with any campaign – Indicates Ted Budd with a commanding lead

(Advance, N.C.) – CBS-17 in Raleigh today released poll results indicating that Ted Budd has a commanding lead in the NC Republican Primary for US Senate.

“We’ve gone from 40 points down at the start of this campaign to having a commanding lead today and our campaign momentum is only going to increase with President Donald Trump’s rally this weekend,” said Ted Budd. “Amy Kate and I are humbled that so many friends, old and new alike, have welcomed us into their homes and volunteered with our campaign. We hope you will all come out to join us this weekend in Johnson County to welcome President Donald Trump back to North Carolina!”

Felts FAQs

What are the numbers?
Ted Budd-38%; Pat McCrory-22%; Mark Walker-9%; Marjorie Eastman-1%

Holy Double-Digit-Lead! That’s a 16-point lead! That can’t be right, can it?
The poll was done by Emerson College Polling. For what it’s worth, FiveThirtyEight, the Polling God of Pagan Journalists, gives Emerson College Polling an A-Minus rating. We might lose a bit of ground if the McCrory campaign can afford to go back up with more misleading ads on broadcast TV (more on that later). But I’m confident Ted is the front-runner, and our lead is outside the margin of error. We’re not going to take anything for granted though and plan to keep our foot on the gas.

But Governor Pat McCrory keeps telling donors he has a double-digit lead!
Wait…I think there might be a timely metaphor here…let’s see if I can sink this shot.

Former Governor Pat McCrory started with an almost 40-point-lead, so he probably did have a double-digit lead several months ago. Metaphorically, you might say McCrory had a large, double-digit lead at…wait for it…halftime! But, alas, as we know all too well in North Carolina today, victory is based on the score at the end of the game, not halftime.

You went to college at NC State, didn’t you?
What gave it away?

But there’s still six weeks until the Primary. A lot can happen between now and then.
Great point – let’s examine what is going to happen between now and then.

  • During the month of March, Ted Budd for US Senate executed over 50K volunteer door knocks and phone calls in all 100 counties and those numbers are only going to increase.
  • We’ve got more CoH than anyone else to spend on paid voter contact (tv, radio, digital, mail).
  • And there’s a rally on April 9 featuring the most popular figure in the Republican Party – President Donald Trump. As #NCPOL reporter Colin Campbell adroitly noted in a Tweet: “This rally will focus a lot more attention on Trump’s endorsement of Budd.”

Speaking of paid voter contact, is it just my imagination or have those “Mostly False” McCrory TV ads gone away?
According to publicly available data about media buys, McCrory is no longer on broadcast tv but he still has a tiny buy on cable.

Wait! McCrory started a paid TV campaign but now he’s no longer on the air on broadcast TV? Is that normal?
It’s not optimal, but it is normal for a campaign to go off the air when donors no longer believe their candidate can win. It’s a multi-stage process:

  1. First, donors start dodging the candidate’s calls.
  2. Then the fundraising dries up.
  3. Next, the candidate gets a text from a trusted campaign advisor that says, “We need to talk.”
  4. And then the campaign takes their ads off broadcast TV.
  5. Finally, the slow spin accelerates into a death spiral that’s nearly impossible for a campaign to pull out of.

The McCrory campaign was firmly in Stage 4 at the start of the day, but with this new survey data? They’re probably at a solid 4.8 and getting pretty dizzy.

You’ve only referenced McCrory but the press release is entitled “The Beginning of the End for McWalker – Part Deux.”
The other half of the McWalker duo is at 9% and dropping. He’s got no path to victory. Here’s a pictorial metaphor for those who are more visually inclined:

Ted Budd for Senate

Even More North Carolina Legislators Endorse Ted Budd for US Senate

50 Conservative Lawmakers From Across the state Believe Ted Budd is the best choice for North Carolina

(Advance, NC) – Republicans in North Carolina continue to coalesce around Ted Budd for US Senate this week as absentee voting continues for the May 17 Primary. 17 additional legislators from across North Carolina today endorsed Ted Budd for US Senate, joining the 33 legislators who already endorsed Ted Budd in 2021.

Advisors for Ted Budd and former Governor Pat McCrory don’t agree on much these days, but they do agree legislative endorsements are a key part of winning primary contests. During this primary cycle, McCrory’s top advisor, Jordan Shaw, noted that legislative endorsements “carry with them a network of grassroots and financial supporters that can be mobilized in primary contests.” Ted Budd advisor Jonathan Felts offered an unusually short statement, “Yeah, the McCrory advisor is correct that legislative endorsements are a critically important part of winning a primary.”

Joe Biden might try to steal it, but we know our North Carolina Republican Legislators deserve the credit for North Carolina landing an automobile manufacturer last week and I congratulate and thank them for a job well done,” said Ted Budd. “Even in the face of continued pandemic recovery and Joe Biden’s record-setting inflation, North Carolina’s economy grows stronger due to policies put forth by our Republican legislators. Amy Kate and I are honored to have earned the support of so many great Conservatives across North Carolina.”

Ted Budd has been endorsed by President Donald Trump, US House Speaker Newt Gingrich, 1 US Senator, 14 Members of Congress, 14 NC Sheriffs, and more to come. Despite being in the fourth decade of his political career, Governor Pat McCrory has been endorsed by nobody for US Senate. Though, to be fair, McCrory has secured the support of prominent Never-Trumper Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (exclusive Hogan/McCrory Fundraising Invitation available upon request).

Please see the list of legislative endorsers (alphabetical order) and their quotes below.

NC Representative Jay Adams (R, District 96)

The people of North Carolina deserve a US Senator who respects the US Constitution, and Ted Budd is the right man for the job. Our party is building around Ted Budd because of his Conservative ideals. Ted Budd will be a Conservative fighter for the people of Catawba County and he has earned my complete support.

NC Representative Mike Clampitt (R, District 119)

I am endorsing Ted Budd for US Senate because I believe Ted Budd is the most qualified person to represent the principles of North Carolina’s grassroots Conservatives in the US Senate. Ted Budd is a dedicated public servant who work hard for all the citizens of our great state.

NC Representative Jimmy Dixon (R, District 4)

Ted Budd grew up on a family farm and got to see, and experience, first-hand from an early age how hard farmers have to work. I’ve learned it first-hand as well, in my work as a poultry and vegetable farmer. But, as the Senior Chairman of the NC House Committee on Agriculture, I see the bigger picture too and know how important agriculture is to our state’s economy. I’m supporting Ted Budd for US Senate because Ted Budd has been a solid advocate for NC farmers in the US House and I have no doubt he will continue to do so in the US Senate.

NC Representative Jeffery Elmore (R, District 94)

I’m a teacher, not a bureaucrat. I know that our students are best served when parents have a strong voice in their children’s education. Ted Budd understands that as well and, long before he was ever running for office, Ted did invest in his children’s education with Ted and his wife, Amy Kate, choosing to home school their children. Ted Budd has been and will be a strong advocate for positive education reforms that have our students and communities as the top priority instead of bureaucrats in Washington, DC. Ted Budd is the best choice for North Carolina’s students and families and I’m proud to support Ted Budd for US Senate.

NC Representative Karl Gillespie (R, District 120)

As the representative for the western most part of North Carolina we are very appreciative when a statewide candidates take the time to travel to the west.  Ted Budd has made several trips out to my district because he knows that, as US Senator, he’s going to represent all of North Carolina, not just the big cities.

I’ve had several visits with him, and I firmly believe Ted Budd is a man who loves this country and will work hard for everyone in our great state. I am especially pleased with Ted’s support of North Carolina agriculture and his business experience.  We need a US Senator who doesn’t need any on the job training when it comes to the challenges facing our country, and I am glad to endorse Ted Budd for US Senate because Ted Budd is the true Conservative that North Carolina needs.

NC Representative Bobby Hanig, NC House Deputy Majority Whip (R, District 6)

Eastern North Carolina faces different challenges than Western North Carolina. I want my constituents to know that Ted Budd understands the challenges facing Easter North Carolina because he’s invested the time here to get to know our part of the state. Ted Budd will be a strong advocate for Eastern North Carolina, and I endorse Ted Budd for US Senate.

Senator Kathy Harrington (R, District 43), NC Senate Majority Leader

Ted Budd is a conservative fighter who listens to others first. As a businessman he understands that small government at every level is the key to economic growth. North Carolina needs a leader like Ted, who doesn’t crave the spotlight or need the credit. He’s someone who wants to help North Carolina families prosper.

NC Representative Brenden Jones, NC House Deputy Majority Leader (R, District 46)

Constituents in my district know that I’m a plain-spoken guy who likes to get things done. We know work horses in public office, not show horses. Ted Budd is a work horse. He speaks his mind, gets things done, and never wavers from a fight. I fully support Ted Budd for US Senate. Ted Budd will make North Carolina proud and help put our nation back on track.

NC Representative Ben Moss Jr. (R, District 66)

I support Ted Budd for his race for US Senate, he is the best candidate to win in November and bring sanity back to the Washington.

NC Representative Mark Pless (R, District 118)

Ted Budd is a hard worker and is the right man for the US Senate. I fully support Ted Budd for US Senate and know he will take the Conservative fight to the US Senate.

NC Representative Donny Lambeth (R, District 75)

I know Ted Budd to be a man of exceptional character and his family to be good people. Ted’s north star is doing what’s right and what’s best for his constituents. Ted Budd is exactly the kind of person we should want serving us in the US Senate. I’m proud to endorse next-county-over neighbor Ted Budd for US Senate.

NC Representative Charlie Miller (R, District 19)

I spent 34 years in law enforcement, and I know what we need in a US Senator. Ted Budd is someone who will stand strong and not bend whenever the woke left-wing goes crazy. Ted is a Conservative fighter who never wavers from doing what’s right. Ted Budd is my choice for US Senator, and I hope you will consider voting for him too. I’m proud to support Ted Budd.

NC Senator Bill Rabon (R, District 8), NC Senate Rules Chairman

Like me, and a lot of our constituents, Ted Budd is an avid hunter and fisherman and I like that about him. But what I really appreciate about Ted Budd is that he’s a Conservative fighter who never wavers. Serving in public office, a lot of the time, it’s as much about stopping bad policies as it is about creating good policies. You get pushed to just go along to get along and let a bad bill become law. Ted Budd doesn’t do that. Ted Budd stands strong on Conservative principles and that’s why I’m endorsing Ted Budd for US Senate.

NC Representative David Rogers (R, District 112)

North Carolina deserves leadership that stands on conservative principle and will not waver. Ted Budd is that sort of leader. Ted Budd’s devotion to his faith and his family is something we need in Washington, DC and I am proud to endorse Ted Budd for United States Senate.

NC Representative Wayne Sasser (R, District 67)

Ted Budd has been a leader who genuinely cares for his constituents. As a pharmacist, I’m well aware of how bad the opioid problem is in our country. When yet another constituent told Ted about her own family’s tragic story, he took action with legislation that had a positive impact fighting this problem. And as a cattle farmer, I know that Ted Budd is a friend of NC Agriculture. Ted Budd cares and works hard for his constituents and that’s why I’m endorsing Ted Budd for US Senate.

NC Representative John Sauls (R, District 51)

I’ve been privileged to serve as a pastor for the last 21 years in Lee County. My faith is important to me. I know Ted Budd is a man of faith, someone whose faith is his true north for him and his wife Amy Kate. I appreciate that about Ted Budd and his family. I’ve also worked hard on economic development challenges facing my community. Ted Budd is a small businessman who grew up in a small town. He knows first-hand about the challenges facing job creators as well as the unique economic growth challenges facing our different communities across North Carolina and he’s going to work hard so that all North Carolinians will have more and better opportunities, not just the folks in big cities. I am proud to support Ted Budd in his run for US Senate and I hope you will do the same.

NC Representative Sarah Stevens (R, NC-90), Speaker Pro Tempore

Ted Budd is a good man and I know he cares about children and families. He knows we are in a better place as a community and a state when there are policies in place that work to grow more and better opportunities for everyone. Whether it be education choice or economic growth, Ted Budd is a leader and a workhorse who wants to get good things accomplished for North Carolina. Ted Budd is my choice for US Senate.

NC Representative Matt Winslow (R, District 7)

My first paid job was cleaning out hog houses. I know Ted is not a farmer, but he grew up on a family farm and he’s cleaned out his share of chicken coops along the way because we were both raised to respect and appreciate the value of hard work and to do the job that needs to be done. Ted Budd never wavers from conservative principles, and he’s never shy about hard work either. He’s been a great friend to farmers and NC Agriculture since he’s been in office and, as a small businessman, he understands how hard government overregulation can be on job creators in our communities. Ted Budd is the right choice for NC voters for the US Senate seat.

McCrory & CRT – The Wrong Way for NC

UPDATE!!! – PATSWRONGWAY.COM – UPDATE!!!

GOVERNOR PAT MCCRORY APPOINTEE FORCING CRT INTO NC SCHOOLS!!!

(Advance, N.C.) – As the US Senate considers Joe Biden’s nominee for the US Supreme Court, North Carolinians are reminded that one of the most important jobs of a US Senator is reviewing the qualification of nominees for federal appointments and then voting up or down on these nominees. These unelected nominees are not accountable to the voters, but instead owe their jobs to the chief executive who appoints them and reflect the values of their benefactor.

Governor Pat McCrory has already failed the Conservative test for nominees. Click here to meet Chairman Eric Davis, appointed by Governor Pat McCrory to the NC Board of Education. Davis is soooooooooo liberal that, after Democrat Roy Cooper defeated Pat McCrory (the only Republican Governor to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in 2016), Cooper reappointed and even promoted McCrory-Appointee-Eric Davis!

Seriously. Click the link. There’s an ominous 30 second video and everything. (FYI – you didn’t hear it from me but…you might be seeing a lot of that ad on TV screens across the state soon.)

NC Republicans need to know the McCrory Way is such the Wrong Way that this McCrory appointee rates a seal of approval from Democrat Roy Cooper! (A McCrooper Seal of Approval?!) Maybe it’s because Cooper is only too happy to have McCrory-Appointee-Eric-Davis leading the charge to force Critical Race Theory (CRT) into NC Schools?

[NC Republicans: 1-If you have not done so already, click the link; 2-Digest the information; 3-Start to process your outrage; 4-Keep reading.]

During this campaign, we’ve all heard McCrory say he’s a Conservative Republican, but reality is far different. McCrory, nor his record, are Conservative and now we have a Pat McCrory appointee leading the charge to force CRT onto NC students and families.

Click herehere, or here for what multiple Conservative journalists say about this Pat McCrory appointee.

NC Republicans have every right to be shocked and outraged at McCrory.

And then to go vote for Ted Budd for US Senate.

The Beginning of the End Begins for McWalker

NC Values Coalition Poll – Not Affiliated with Any Campaign – Indicates Ted Budd in the Lead Just as Voting Begins in NC

(Raleigh, N.C.) – The NC Values Coalition yesterday released poll results indicating that Ted Budd is leading the Republican Primary for US Senate. Our lawyers tell us we shouldn’t include a link to NC Values website, but you can probably find a link in the #NCPOL Twitterverse. Let’s just skip to the FAQs.

Felts FAQs

What are the numbers?

Ted Budd-32%; Pat McCrory-29%; Mark Walker-12%; Marjorie Eastman-2%

That’s only a 3-point lead.

Yeah. Just three points and, if you want to get technical, within the margin of error.

So why are you so excited over three points?

We’re not that excited but I’d rather be up than down at this point. As we always note, we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us. But look, it’s a survey commissioned by an organization that has a strong interest in the Republican Primary but has not endorsed anyone. They’ve got every reason to want their membership to see accurate numbers, but they don’t have a dog in the fight. The results confirm what all surveys, including McCrory’s internal surveys, have indicated in this campaign. McCrory continues to slide (now down to 29%) and Walker probably has a large callous on top of his head because he’s been bumping against his vote-percentage-ceiling (low-to-mid-teens) for over a year now.

Why do you say it’s the beginning of the end for McWalker?

This poll is similar to our own survey at the beginning of this month (Budd is +7, McCrory is-2, Walker is -4, Eastman is -2). What’s happened between then and now to explain our gains and the decline of the other candidates?

  • We’ve activated our grassroots organizations to start driving GOTV (see below).
  • Television ads supporting Ted Budd are back on the air.

Additionally, our survey indicated Ted still has plenty of room to grow, McCrory can’t grow, and Walker never has grown. In our slow-but-steady-and-not-flashy fashion, we are starting to peak just as North Carolinians lock in and start voting (yesterday was the first day Absentee Ballots are being mailed out). It’s almost like we had a strategic plan designed to maximize voter contact impact just before the primary election.

Speaking of which, what does the future hold between now and Primary Day?

Great question:

  • During the month of March, Ted Budd for US Senate executed over 50K volunteer door knocks and phone calls in all 100 counties and those numbers are only going to increase. (Apologies to a few parents out there who let me know that our volunteers ringing the doorbell woke up napping infants this past weekend).
  • We’ve got more CoH than anyone else to spend on paid voter contact (tv, radio, digital, mail).
  • And, oh yeah, there’s a rally on April 9 featuring the most popular figure in the Republican Party – President Donald Trump. As #NCPOL reporter Colin Campbell adroitly noted in a Tweet: “This rally will focus a lot more attention on Trump’s endorsement of Budd.” And yeah, contrary to what you might’ve read out of DC, that makes a positive difference for our NC campaign.

We’ve got a lot of momentum already and still have a lot of room to press before our gas pedal hits the floor while McWalker is running on fumes. That’s why I think this survey is the beginning of the end for McWalker.

I’ve never heard of this pollster. Have you?

No. But according to the Internets, Todd Vitale used to be a Partner at The Tarrance Group, one of the top polling firms in the country and not the type to give out partnerships to morons. And c’mon, this is ACC Country. If you can’t trust a guy with the last name Vitale to accurately predict winners and losers this time of year, then who can you trust? GO WAKE FOREST!!!!

Ted Budd for US Senate Launches Not-Particularly-Subtle Television Ad Campaign

Trump Endorsement? Check.
Calling Biden Worst President Ever? Check.
Carrying a Gun? Check.
Upbeat Music Appropriate for Kicking Ass & Taking Names? Check.
Promise to Finish the Wall? Check.
National Border Patrol Council Endorsement? Check.
Monster Truck? Alas…We Couldn’t Fit It In.

(Advance, NC) – Ted Budd for US Senate kicked off our Primary television ad campaign today with an ad best described as 30 Seconds of Cinematic Majesty. Technically, we ran it during the UNC first-round game last week, but today is when the heavy ad buy starts in earnest. Click here to watch it.

The ad:

  • reminds voters that President Donald Trump has endorsed Ted Budd for US Senate;
  • points out that under the Biden Administration, the USA has border security problems, crime is rampant, and drug abuse is on the rise;
  • reminds voters that the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) has endorsed Ted Budd for US Senate (see FAQs below);
  • features really dramatic footage of Ted Budd walking along the Southern Border carrying a gun and promising to finish the Wall started under President Trump.

t’s really inspiring and will, no doubt, inspire Republican voters to vote for Ted Budd for US Senate.

Frequently Asked Questions w/Felts
What’s the National Border Patrol Council and why do you think NC voters care what they think?
Great question. The NBPC represents the non-supervisory Border Patrol Agents and support personnel assigned to the United States Border Patrol. These are the women and men who actually do the work securing our Southern border every single day. These are the same folks who the Biden-Harris Administration seek to persecute and scapegoat just for doing their jobs. These good people believe Ted Budd is the person who will fight the hardest to get them what they need when he’s in the US Senate. Below is an excerpt of what they said or click here for more info.
NBPC is proud to endorse Ted Budd for U.S. Senate because we know he’s got the backbone to get in there and fight for a secure border. Our members have been working to secure our nation’s borders for more than two decades and, too often, we’ve seen career politicians be willing to talk a big game whenever election season rolls around only to go soft in the knees when it’s time for action. Ted Budd is not that kind of politician. Ted Budd is the kind of leader who has been fighting since he was elected to build the wall and get the resources needed to safely secure our Southern border. We face a lot of challenges, and we know that Ted Budd will help us, not abandon us.

Is Ted carrying the gun in his belt with no holster?
No. He’s using an inside the waistband Kydex holster that clips to the belt and covers the trigger guard. I think it’s this one.

Any particular reason you chose this line of messaging for your first ad?
There’s pretty much universal agreement with NC Republicans on three things:

  1. NC Republicans love President Donald Trump (85%-12% FAV/UNFAV).
  2. NC Republicans believe border insecurity is our biggest problem.
  3. NC Republicans think Joe Biden sucks (5%-92% FAV/UNFAV – that’s even worse than Obama in the Red Wave of 2010).

So, we decided to roll the dice and directly tell NC Republicans that President Trump AND the hard-working women and men who do the heavy lifting on our Southern Border all think Ted Budd is the best candidate for US Senate. At this time in our great nation’s history, it doesn’t strike me that folks are looking for much in the way of nuance and subtlety.

PatsWrongWay.com Attempts to Document All the Ways Pat McCrory is Wrong for NC Republicans

“If we’re really serious about documenting on a website all the ways Governor McCrory is wrong for NC Republicans, we might run out of Internet.”

(Advance, N.C.) – PatsWrongWay.com is live now and seeks to document all the ways former Governor Pat McCrory is wrong for NC Republicans. Just click the link, it’s pretty self-explanatory. Right now, the site focuses on five issues:

  • McCrory’s sad record of bashing President Trump;
  • McCrory’s discouraging record of raising taxes on working families;
  • McCrory’s wobbly record on abortion;
  • McCrory’s losing record in statewide elections;
  • and McCrory’s disappointing record of questionable ethics.

PatsWrongWay.com lays out reasons why former Governor Pat McCrory is the wrong choice for NC Republicans,” said Ted Budd for US Senate advisor Jonathan Felts. “It’s a daunting task because, let’s be honest, if we’re really serious about documenting on a website all the ways Governor McCrory is wrong for NC Republicans, we might run out of Internet,* especially with all the supply-chain problems in Joe Biden’s America.”

“This primary election represents a clear choice between a Go-Along-to-Get-Along-Career-Politician in Pat McCrory versus a Conservative Fighter in Ted Budd,” Felts continued. “NC Republicans deserve a candidate who will fight for America First policies that protect and promote American jobs as Priority Number 1. We need a candidate with a proven track record of winning tough races, and that’s Ted Budd. Like President Donald Trump, Ted Budd has never wavered from the Conservative fight.”

* Yes. I am aware we are not going to run out of Internet. It’s a joke. Even Governor McCrory and I can agree that some self-depreciatory humor in politics is a good thing, especially if it gives me the chance to flex that, yes, we can document the website content:
“The second thing is a little more self-deprecation. Take the issue seriously but don’t take yourself so daggum seriously. Third, we need to have a little humor occasionally…”
