ADVANCE, NC – Conservative small business owner and first-term Congressman Ted Budd (R-Advance) today announced the hiring of Elizabeth Oglesby as his campaign manager. As an experienced campaign professional, Oglesby will focus on building a districtwide grassroots team to counter the flood of out-of-state dollars targeting the 13th Congressional District on behalf of Nancy Pelosi. Budd announced the hiring by saying:
“I’m thankful to have Elizabeth join our team, because she shares my commitment to this district’s conservative values and will help us prepare for the millions of dollars Nancy Pelosi will spend here for a likeminded liberal like Kathy Manning or Jeff Coker. I’m focused on helping the people of this district, and Elizabeth will help us ensure our values are defended by running an aggressive, professional campaign.”
Elizabeth Oglesby earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at Texas A & M University – Commerce. She went to work for Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential campaign and worked diligently in the areas of voter outreach, event coordinating, and fundraising. Most recently, she served as Political Director for a Virginia State Delegate race in 2017 and as Deputy Political Director for Stephen Fincher’s U.S. Senate race in Tennessee, before he dropped out of the race.
“I’m excited to join Ted’s campaign because he is making a positive difference for his constituents,” stated Oglesby. “He’s not afraid to stand up to the political establishment, and as a small businessman he knows Washington needs to get out of the way. The historic tax cuts and red tape reform he passed is fueling economic growth here, and I’m eager to help voters rally behind his vision for continued pro-growth policies in Washington.”
